PART 2: MODEL CATEGORIES (FULL LIST)

We are not limited to 90-60-90 standards. The Asian market is huge and there is demand for a wide variety of types. Find your category below.

1. HIGH FASHION & RUNWAY (HIGH FASHION & RUNWAY)

The elite of the modeling business. Grace, height, character.

Referral Description: Work at fashion weeks (Shanghai Fashion Week, China Fashion Week), participation in private shows of designer collections, shoots for glossy publications (Vogue China, Harper's Bazaar, Elle). This direction requires strict discipline and compliance with international standards.

Who we're looking for:

• Girls: Height strictly from 175 to 181 cm. Hips up to 90-91 cm. Important «strong» appearance, interesting facial features, ability to walk on the catwalk (defile).

• Guys: Height from 185 to 190 cm. Tight, lean physique. Charismatic, memorable appearance.

Types:

• Strange Face / Alien Face: Unconventional, alien beauty. Wide-set eyes, large ears, unusual cut of eyes.

• Baby Face: Doll-like, innocent face, big eyes, plump lips. A timeless Asian classic.

• Strong Face: Sharp cheekbones, strong-willed chin, cold gaze.

2. COMMERCIAL & CATALOG (COMMERCIAL & CATALOGS)

Referral Description: It's the backbone of the China market. Shooting for catalogs of clothes, shoes, accessories. Work for marketplaces (Taobao, Tmall). Not so much «strangeness» is important here, but cuteness, smiling and ability to change poses quickly (up to 100 poses per minute).

Who we're looking for:

• Girls: Height from 165 to 175 cm. Pleasant appearance, clean skin, beautiful smile, good hair. Ability to work «on the flow».

• Guys: Height from 180 to 185 cm. Type of «boyfriend», «student», «businessman». Classic male beauty.

Job Specifics: A model must be energetic and enduring. Shooting days can last 8-10 hours, during which you have to change dozens of images. But this is where the most serious money is made.

3. LINGERIE & SWIMWEAR (LINGERIE MODEL)

Femininity, confidence, perfect shapes.

Referral Description: Shoots of underwear, swimwear, pajamas, homewear, corsets. China has a huge market for lingerie production, and the demand for European models in this segment is consistently high.

Requirements:

• Age: strictly 18+.

• Body: Tight, athletic, but with feminine forms. Beautiful breasts (size B, C), pronounced waist, beautiful hips. No visible scars or large tattoos on the body.

• Skin: Perfect, well-groomed skin all over the body.

Referral Description: Children's fashion in China is a huge industry. We are looking for children and teenagers to advertise children's clothes, toys, school supplies.

Categories:

• Babies: Charming smiles, calm personality.

• Kids (Children 4-10 years old): Active, playful, not afraid of the camera.

• Teens (Teens 11-16 years old): Transition stage to adult modeling. Stylish, modern images.

7. PARTS MODEL (PART MODELS / BODY PARTS)

Referral Description: Shoots where you don't need your whole body or face in the frame. Advertising of jewelry, shoes, cosmetics, shampoos.

We're looking for owners:

• Dainty hands: Long fingers, beautifully shaped nails, smooth skin (to advertise rings, creams, manicures).

• Beautiful legs: Dainty ankles, well-groomed feet (for advertising shoes, pantyhose).

• Luxurious hair: Thick, healthy, shiny hair (to advertise shampoos, colors, hair dryers).

• The perfect smile: Smooth white teeth, beautiful lips (for lipstick ads, dentistry).

8. MATURE / CLASSIC MODELS (AGE MODELS)

Timeless elegance.

Referral Description: Advertising of home goods, medical services, clothes for mature people, banking services. We are looking for men and women 35+, 45+, 55+ who look noble and natural. Gray hair is welcome if it looks stylish.

PART 3: THE WORK PROCESS AND LIFE IN ASIA

What's in store for you after successfully auditioning?

1. Contract and Visa: We take care of the legal support. You sign an official contract that protects your rights. We help you to apply for a work visa, which is necessary for legal stay in China.

2. Flight and Accommodation: As a rule, the agency advances the flight (round trip) and provides accommodation in model apartments. These are comfortable apartments in the centers of major cities, where you will live with other models (usually 2-3 people per room). This is a great opportunity to make friends from all over the world.

3. «Pocket Money: In the initial phase, you are given pocket money for food and small expenses. These amounts are deducted from your earnings at the end of the contract (minus system), as are your flight/housing costs.

4. Casting and Filming: Your day is going to be busy. The morning starts with a schedule check. The manager sends you to castings (Go-See), where you show clients your buk (portfolio) and composites (model cards). In case of approval - you drive to the shoot. Transportation (cab or metro) is usually reimbursed or arranged by the agency.

5. Communication: You don't have to know Chinese (although basic phrases would be a plus). There are always interpreters or English-speaking managers on set. The main language of communication in an international environment is English.

PART 4: REQUIREMENTS FOR CANDIDATES (CHECK-LIST)

Before you apply, make sure you are ready for the challenge.

Professional Requirements:

• Availability of materials:

  • Snaps/Polaroids: Photo without makeup, in swimsuit/underwear, in natural light. Front, profile, 3/4, back, portrait with and without smile. This is the most important! We need to see your real figure and skin condition.

  • Portfolio (Book): If you have experience - the best jobs. If there is no experience - we will make tests on site.

  • Video presentation: A short video (1 min) where you give your name, age, height, show a walkthrough and posing in English.

• Appearance: Well-groomed hair (natural color is welcome), clean skin, neat manicure (nude or no nail polish), no false eyelashes (for fashion). Tattoos are acceptable for some commercial work, but for haute couture it is better to have none or to hide them.

Personality traits:

• Discipline: Being late for shoots in Asia is unacceptable.

• Stress tolerance: Ability to maintain a smile after 5 hours of trying on clothes.

• Communicability: You will be working in a large team.

• Autonomy: Ability to live away from home, run a household, and plan a budget.

PART 5: MYTHS AND REALITY ABOUT WORKING IN CHINA

We want to be honest with you.

• Myth: «In China, they take everyone.».

  • Reality: Competition is huge. Clients are becoming more selective. Professionalism and uniqueness are valued now, not just a «European face».

• Myth: «Modeling is about easy money and parties.».

  • Reality: It's hard physical labor. Parties can interfere with work. If you look tired or swollen in the morning, the client will not choose you next time.

• Myth: «Gotta be too thin.».

  • Reality: For fashion, yes, the parameters are strict. But for catalogs (e-commerce), clients prefer a healthy, trim look, not a painful thinness. Clothes should «fit» beautifully.

PART 6: GUIDELINES FOR THE PREPARATION OF MATERIALS

To ensure your application doesn't get lost among thousands of others, follow these tips when preparing your materials:

How to shoot perfect snaps at home:

1. Light: Stand facing a window during daylight hours. The light should be soft, diffused. No direct sunlight creating harsh shadows. No artificial yellow light from a chandelier.

2. Von: Monochrome wall (white, gray, beige). Remove unnecessary objects from the frame (sockets, wires, furniture).

3. Clothing: Black separate swimsuit (bikini) for girls, trunks/boxers for guys. Heeled shoes for girls (to assess the shape of legs and posture).

4. Face: Complete lack of makeup. Clean hair.

5. Angles:

   • Full height: front (arms down), left profile, right profile, back (hair gathered).

   • Portrait: face serious, face with smile (with teeth), profiles.

   • Hands: show the back and inside of your hands.

How to record a video business card:

• Hold your phone horizontally (or have someone take a picture of you).

• Introduce yourself: «Hello, my name is [Name]. I am from [City/Country]. My height is [Height]. My age is [Age].»

• Show profiles (turn your head left, right).

• Show me your hands.
